Ruling elders and deacons are elected by the congregation from among our members.

Deacons

The duties of the Deacon are to minister to those who are in need, to the sick, to the friendless, and to any who may be in distress both within and beyond the community of faith. The deacons in our congregation have additional responsibilities, especially in the area of hospitality and some areas related to worship.

Ruling Elders & The Session

Our church’s Session (council) has six ruling elders, a clerk of session (secretary), plus the pastor (also known as a teaching elder), who serves as the moderator. Ruling elders along with the teaching elder provide leadership for our congregation. 

The Session is responsible for worship, leading the congregation in mission, receiving members, financial matters, the care and maintenance of the building and grounds. Our committees include: worship, mission, stewardship and finance, personnel and the nominating committee.
