Friendship Sunday September 8, 2013
Friendship Sunday is this Sunday, September 8
Sunday School and Adult Ed meet at 9:30
Worship at 10:30 followed by potluck barbecue
Adult Ed will kick off the year with a discussion of race. Copies of the book “But I Don’t See you As Asian” by Bruce Reyes-Chow will be available. Jamie Schultz will lead the discussion. All are welcome.
Sunday School is underway for all children and guests!
Toddlers will have a story and an activity in the nursery. This will usually begin after Children’s Time with Jamie. Watch for other children heading to the nursery before the Sermon.
All school age children are welcome to another great year of SUNDAY SCHOOL!
We will have class each Sunday from 9:30-10:20 in the downstairs classrooms. We have new Sunday School teachers this year and will continue the tradition of inviting guests to lead lessons around the theme or story. For the Fall, we will be focusing on the roles that youth play in a community of faith. Students will hear the story of Jesus welcoming the children and experience being a valued part of the community through lessons that engage multiple intelligences. We will meet as one group and then separate into two smaller groups based on age.
Our big kick off will be Friendship Sunday on September 8. Join us (and bring a friend!) to meet the team of teachers and welcome the new students. Also, we will be having various guests work with the students throughout the year to share their special talents with us, so let us know if you’d like to help out.
See you all soon!
